Who We Are
Maria Gutzeit is the owner and principal engineer at Compliance Plus. She has over 30 years experience in the environmental compliance arena. She began her career with Fortune 500 industry, including Amoco Oil, Waste Management of California, and Anheuser Busch. After serving as a site environmental engineer for three Southern California facilities, she founded Compliance Plus in 1995. The company serves industrial clients in Southern California and the western United States. Ms. Gutzeit has a degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana, where she was a National Merit Scholar and Illinois Society of Professional Engineering Scholarship recipient.
Ms. Gutzeit is also active in the often controversial world of California water, serving as an elected official with Newhall County Water District since 2003. She is currently President of the Board. Former non-profit service includes the Los Angeles County Bicycle Coalition, the Santa Clarita Valley Committee on Aging (Senior Center) and citizen committees for Los Angeles County and the City of Santa Clarita.
When not working, Maria and her family enjoy playing in the dirt....biking, hiking and camping everywhere their travels take them.
